Inami is well-known as the best wood carving town in Japan, and many artisanal masters involved in wood and woodcarving live around the area. On this course, you are invited to cycle around the town and interact with the local masters of wood, including the rare and precious wood supplier who is an absolute connoisseur of wood, a shop specializing in carving tools, and the studio of a contemporary woodcarver. ”Experiences” are interwoven into the tour along the way to make you feel like a real artisan yourself.

Gather at the BnC Lounge.

The tour begins! Ride through the town of Inami on a bicycle. On the way, you will travel through the streets as if you were a traditional Inami woodcarver, stopping in at a supplier of rare and precious cuts of wood and a shop specializing in carving tools.

Experience the age-old traditions of Inami woodcarving by traveling down the historic stone-paved streets of the classic townscape and the central Yokamachi Street, and stopping in at the illustrious Zuisenji Temple.
12:00
After taking a break, visit the studio of a contemporary woodcarver. You will be taught how to use a chisel by a local artisan, and experience the craftwork techniques involved in Inami woodcarving.

Return to the BnC Lounge.

Reservation is required no later than 10 days before arrival.
- Each tour is only for 1 group.
- The tour is exclusive for BnC guest.
Cancellation policy
- After 5:00 p.m., 3 days before tour: 50% of cost
- After 5:00 p.m., on the day before tour, day of tour, or without contact: 100%
{In the following cases, no cancellation fees will be charged}
- When it has been decided that the tour wouldn’t be a comfortable experience due to bad weather or other negative circumstances, and the organizer cancels the tour in advance.
- When the tour date has been rescheduled.

- In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), tours are only available for smaller groups of people (each tour limited to 1 group).
- We request your cooperation in wearing a mask when visiting any studios, workshops, or other establishments. If you are not feeling well, please refrain from participating in any tours.
